It envisages two training courses, one in the field of Agriculture and one in Strategic Planning. Other two courses (Leadership and Civil Protection) will be carried out on the early months of 2011.
The course in Agriculture concerns green house cultivation and is aimed at spreading the use of this technique as useful tool in order to improve the Iraqi crop production and create new job opportunities in rural areas. As a matter of fact, these techniques offer to the farmers the opportunity to earn more, extending the period of production and allowing the cultivation of a larger amount of good-quality vegetable. The course is addressed to civil servants working in the department of Agriculture and is aimed at strengthening their capacity to support the development of a more effective chain of value, able to make the Iraqi agriculture competitive again.
The Strategic Planning course is addressed to both officials and managers of the several technical departments and the members of the Provincial Council. The objective is to improve their capacity of designing and planning the future development of the Province.
The first assignment within LTA and UNDP Iraq has been carried out by SudgestAid on May-June 2010 with two courses in strategic planning for the members of the Provincial Council of Basra Province, in Najaf.
